We use the skills evaluation to observe players across a division performing a variety of skills so we can ensure players are in the correct division and best create even teams through the drafts.
Skills Evaluations typically take place in March for AA/AAA/Majors Baseball and Softball. JR/SR Baseball evaluations are conducted closer to the start of their season.
Each player will warm-up, then execute and be given a score by multiple independent evaluators in each of the following categories:
- Throw and catch
- Pitching
- Hitting
- Fielding ground balls
- Fielding pop ups
After skills evaluations have been completed, the drafts begin with Majors and work backwards so players not drafted at the highest division fall back to be eligible for the next division. Players are selected according to composite skill level while also taking into account any "additional comments" you have made in your child's profile.
Majors: League age 12 and 11 as well as league age 10 players wanting to be considered for Majors draft eligibility (must score top 25% of Majors players.
AAA: League age 10 and 9 as well as and league age 8 players wanting to be considered for AAA draft eligibility (must score top 25% of AAA players)
AA: League age 8 and league age 7 players wanting to be considered for AA draft eligibility
Softball - ALL divisions/ages
NOTE: Becoming draft eligible does not guarantee selection to the higher division as registration numbers will ultimately dictate how many players are placed in each division
